This week's 'Folks of Letterfolk' features the account of Tiffanie from @moms.can.be.fit. Tiffanie, the woman behind this wildly successful health and wellness account, is a working mom who started her business after documenting her own body transformation. Tiffanie's story struck a cord with us since we're also both business owners and parents, and we wanted to know more about her journey.Ā

To start off, tell us a little bit about how you started "Mom's Can Be Fit" and your own fitness journey.

I honestly first began my account solely for the purpose of accountability and inspiration to start my own fitness journey again. I was in my 40s with two teenage boys, and I realized that I hadnā€™t made myself a priority. I wanted a safe place where I could find like-minded women who would support and encourage me to get fit and healthy again. In the process, I not only found myself, but found my calling to become an integrative health coach and help women across the world find their best selves, too.

How do you balance being both a business woman and a health coach?Ā

My first priority as a professional is to my clients as a health coach. Iā€™m driven by the results my clients are getting. Iā€™ve always said that the money will work itself out if I just serve my clients with integrity and passion, so I show up each day and give it my all. As a result, my business has flourished.

How has your fitness journey inspired the way you run your business?Ā

My own personal story of finding balance and transformation despite the messiness of life is really what attracts many of my clients to me. They want that same balance with food, with fitness, and with life. Becoming well is about becoming whole -- not about deprivation, starvation, or fad diets. Those donā€™t work. So everything that I ask of my clients is solely for the purpose of finding a true, authentic lifestyle approach so that they can find their optimal health in a sustainable, fun, and enjoyable way. . . just like I have.

It seems like diets have been around for so long, but how can we create long-lasting healthy eating habits, rather than the latest trendy diets?Ā

Exactly. Diets work until they donā€™t. In order to finally get off the dieting crazy train and find TRUE, long-lasting results, we must get out of the dieting mentality: that it must be hard and unenjoyable for it to work. God gave us taste buds for a reason. Food should be savored and enjoyed. We CAN have good health and pleasure at the same time. They are not mutually exclusive.

How has your mother's example inspired you?Ā

My mom raised my brother and me on her own. She was a hard worker, always saw the bright side of things, never bemoaned her situation in life, but did her very best with the resources she had. We were poor in the worldā€™s standards of wealth, but oh so rich in what mattered. I see the world through a lens of "the glass half full,ā€ and that mentality has served me well through my own personal trials in life.

Where can we find out more about your programs and the work you do?

Lastly, we always like to ask: what is currently up on your letter board?
